A Bad Beat bonus typically occurs when you lose in a situation where you're the big favourite to win the hand. The Betfair Poker Bad Beat Jackpot starts at £1,500 and increases by £100 per day (at 17 GMT). To qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot the following hands will need to be beaten:
Texas Hold'em
Any four of a kind, jacks or better beaten. Both hole cards must be used in both winning and losing hand Card Stud, Omaha High and Omaha High/Low Any four of a kind, jacks or better beaten. At least two of the four of a kind must be down cards At least two down cards must be used in both the winning and losing hand.
Poker Tournaments Excluded.
If you are part of a hand that qualifies, the Bad Beat Jackpot will be split as follows:
50% will go to the qualifying losing hand
25% will go to the qualifying winning hand
25% will be divided among the remaining active players at the table who were dealt cards when the qualifying hand was dealt
No added rake is taken to fund the Bad Beat Jackpot!
Players who qualify will have their account credited automatically.
