As we approach the end of September and inch closer to the Breeder’s Cup we are seeing our Cup contenders perform in their final preparatory races. For the weekend we look forward to the Kentucky Cup Classic and Yellow Ribbon Stakes. Turfway Park with its polytrack is holding the Kentucky Classic. This grade II race has a $350,000 purse and will run on Saturday September 30. A few notable horses rumored to be attending are Premium Tap (Woodward Stakes winner), Perfect Drift, Golding Green , and It’s No Joke to name a few.

Also this Saturday we have the Grade I Yellow Ribbons Stakes. The race is hosted by Oak Tree at Santa Anita Park and has a $400,000 purse up for grabs. We expect Wait a While (American Oakes winner) to be racing as part of her preparation for the Breeder’s Cup. Other likely starters include Bond Deal, Candy Factory, Dancing Edie, Life Live, Singalong, Three Degrees, and possibly Moscow Burning.
