William Hill have taken a bet of £20,000 for Hillary Clinton to become the next US President and have shortened her odds from 6/4 to 11/10 favourite as a result. 'We believe this is the largest bet ever placed on a female politician' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, 'We don't take that many bigger ones for male politicans, either! Punters have been backing Hillary to become President since the day her husband ceased to be, and she will already cost us over £500,000 if she does so'.
The bet was struck in a central London William Hill betting shop, on the same day that they also took a £1000 bet at odds of 50/1 for outsider Ron Paul to win the race to the White House - his odds have now been cut to 25/1.
Latest William Hill Presidential Odds: 11/10 Hillary Clinton; 7/2 Barack Obama; 6/1 Giuliani; 12/1 McCain; Romney; 14 Edwards; 16 Thompson; 25 Dodd, Paul......
