Gilded completed a five-timer with a smooth success in the Queen Mary Stakes.
Once she hit the front a furlong out the 11-2 shot quickly put daylight between herself and her rivals to give trainer Hannon his fourth victory in this Group Two race.
Richard Hughes was not hard on the filly in the closing stages as she won by a length from Simply Perfect, with Nina Blini half a length away third.
Hannon said: "She just keeps getting better, it's absolutely marvellous. "I'm delighted with her, she is pretty good.
"I was very worried about the draw early on, but she's overcome that no problem, she's a good filly. She's as hard as iron and six furlongs will be no problem to her
"Every time she goes to the races she gets better.
"We'll probably give her a break and send her to Newmarket for the Cherry Hinton. Also she's still in the Weatherbys Super Sprint. That was the race we bought her for and we'll consider it as it's worth £100,000. |
