The betting firm report that four-figure bets have been taken on a daily basis, clearly highlighting the attraction of the service to high-rolling customers, as well as armchair investors betting in denominations as low as a pound.
Since its launch in 2005, turnover has exceeded £100K on a daily basis and looks set to continue its rapid growth.
Whilst the appetite for financials betting in the UK is well-established, Ladbrokes report that up to 25% of its new custom has come from overseas – a figure the bookmakers expect to increase as the fixed-odds betting service grows.
It’s made possible by an agreement between Ladbrokes.com and Cantor Index, the leading spread betting firm, which has developed software that automatically adjusts the odds on financial markets. The technology means Ladbrokes is able to offer constantly updating odds on how the markets will move every 5 minutes.
Betting on the FTSE 100 the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the new Foreign Exchange markets are available throughout the week, Monday to Friday, from 08.00 till 21.00 GMT.
