CRISTIANO Ronaldo is the favourite to be the first Premiership player to receive a card in today's (Wednesday) semi-final between France and Portugal, Ladbrokes reported yesterday.

The Manchester United forward, who picked up a yellow card in his team's first round win over Angola, is 7/2 alongside team-mate Ricardo Carvalho.

Everton's Nuno Valenete is one of three players on 5/1 after already picking up two cautions on route to the semi-finals.

Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "Ronaldo appeared keen to get people booked in his last match, but he will be watched closely by the referee himself this time.
