JAN ARNE BJERKR
On paper Internet qualifier Jan could be forgiven for thinking he had skipped two games and was already at the final. However the advantage of playing a world class field is that you can make them fold 1/2 a hand to a re raise pre flop which Rory did with Q 9 to Surinders initial raise with K Q.
After playing alot of hands early on Brian found himself in the short stack, but after two double ups through Surinder was back at the top of the leader board. A position which was to change hands considerably throughout the heat. It was well into the fourth level of blinds before Surinder became the 6th place finisher. With the blinds at 7000/15,000 Ram took the lead with four uncontested all in moves, taking 88,000 in blinds. After having moved all in virtually every hand, Ram avoided coming up against two genuine hands in one pot. Brians pocket queens stood up against Jans pocket tens, knocking Jan out in 5th. Having only shown one hand after an all in move, Ram's A Q must have looked even stronger to Martin Wendt, all in with pocket nines. With an ace on the flop Martin was out in 4th. The A Q was kind again to Ram, against Rory's Q Q. Having to wait for the ace untill the turn this time, Ram eliminated Rory in 3rd, to be heads up with Brian. After a swing in the chip lead and the river came showing just how different the result could have been, Ram emerged victorious to take a seat in the semi final.
Don't forget, the PMV heats will be televised every Tuesday on Sky Sports 2 from now until December, with the final live and exclusive.
