You don’t have to be Royal to get rich in the UK!
Over $1,000,000 was shared by 18 skillful players at the recent 888.com UK Open televised poker tournament, the second in what is proving to be a very popular event in the poker world.
Well done to Ian F., from the UK, who is now $500,000 richer after leaving the competition for dust.
Accolades also go to the fine players that represented Pacific Poker, including …
… professional poker player Julian Gardner aka windypoo, who finished as the highest placing Pacific Poker member, in 4th place, winning a cool $65,000 after taking out fellow poker pro Surinder Sunar. Congratulations also to ronhubbl, who won $50,000 after placing 5th.
Making it to the Semis was no mean feat either. $15,000 was picked up by scho1, and being a gold medalist was not enough for professional runner Darren Campbell, running out of luck after losing to LXIXME17, who went on to finish the event with $10,000, as did jazzy116 who took out Donnacha O’Dea to also win $10,000.
Thank you to all members who enjoyed our UK Open series, from the Super Satellites and Qualifiers right up to the televised finale. Well done to everyone, and we hope to see you all back in the action in 2006!
