New to Live Tournament Play? Not to worry! ParadisePoker.com Ambassador Todd Arnold (you’ll know him as NSXT2) offers tips for players new to the live game play. Whether you're new to live games entirely, or just new to the live tournament scene, Todd's tips will help prep you for the Conquest of Paradise Island main event.
Read NSXT2's top ten tips for live tournament play below:
Have no fear. Pay attention during EVERY hand. Make your reads and FOLLOW through with them, don’t change your mind out of fear. Discipline yourself to play every single hand the best you can because every hand is important. Don’t waste chips, have a reason for every chip you put in the pot. Be patient, don’t force anything. You can’t force a win, only a loss. Look for tells. Decide early on how a player looks when he is relaxed and how he looks when nervous. Don’t give any information to your table. Keep quiet if you aren’t able to outsmart them with your words. Anything you say or show will be held against you by great players. Don’t ‘teach’ while you play. Attack weakness. Be confident. Avoid playing large pots early unless you are positive you will win. |
