Peter Crouch has sprung to the defence of Michael Owen and insists the player will come good for England despite a slow start. Owen looked below par during Saturday's 1-0 victory over Paraguay and was replaced by Stewart Downing in the second half, but Crouch says the striker will eventually shine. The Newcastle striker is only just getting back to full fitness following a broken foot but Crouch is confident England will start to see the real Owen sooner rather than later. "During all the years Michael Owen has been playing, he has never really had a dip in form," Crouch revealed. "He has always scored goals and I believe now he will score goals."
