Following a nationwide gamble, bookies William Hill have cut the price of temperatures topping the 100F mark in 2006 from 8/1 to 7/1 as punters pile on the summer sunshine perhaps hoping to win back some of their loses following England's early exit from the World Cup. Hills have also trimmed the price of record temperatures being beaten from 12/1 to 10/1 (the record currently stands at 101.3F). "Weather betting gets bigger ever year and if temps top 100f this year we will be paying out a six figure sum.", said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
William Hill Weather Wagers: 7/1 Temperatures to pass 100F in 2006. 10/1 UK record of over 101.3F being recorded during 2006.
